Owen Industries offers an extensive portfolio of metals processing capabilities ranging from small, simple cut parts to large, multi-processed components. Services include laser cutting, plasma cutting, bending, forming, shearing, sawing and machining. Through integration of processing with assembly and welding operations, we can also provide customers fully dedicated manufacturing services.

Laser Cutting

The company maintains one of the Midwest’s largest laser operations equipped with state-of-the-art Trumpf cutting systems that produce a truly superior and economical cut product. Versatile and fast, lasers support the accelerated design and manufacturing demands of the global market place. Our laser operations facilitate compressed product development cycles, support just-in-time delivery and produce economical low-lot-size requirements for one-of-a-kind parts or large production runs.

Forming

Owen Industries utilizes several types of CNC Press Brakes to accommodate a demanding range of metal bending requirements and volumes, from capacities of ¼ in. by 10 in. to bends up to 500 tons and 14 ft. long. This versatility supports a broad selection of customer applications and allows us to use the right tool to produce a consistently high quality product. 

Flame and Plasma Cutting

The company’s CNC Flame & Plasma Cutting operations are also among the largest in the Midwest and have the capacity to cut a variety of plate products. We maintain high production efficiency by employing a combination of cutting systems from 16 ft. 5 in. to 118 ft. long processing tables and cutting machines with 10 to 20 torch heads. An extensive inventory of plate stock is available for immediate processing.

New Generation Plasma Cutting

New Generation Plasma provides the ultimate in precision cutting for producing near laser quality parts at reduced costs. For steel plate from 16 gauge to 1 in. thick, high definition plasma cutting is employed for its speed and accuracy over traditional oxy-fuel and plasma systems.

Precision Machining

We maintain a complimentary range of vertical and horizontal machining technology to support processing and custom manufacturing operations. Machine operators receive specialized training for precision parts production, assuring a high level of quality and superior fit-up characteristics of finished parts.

Sawing

CNC controlled vertical band saws are used for precision cuts of bars, beams, tubing and other structural sections. With a beveling head, our saw cutting process can fabricate straight or beveled cuts of up to 16 ft. by 16 ft. carbon steels.
